Not quite on the beach, but literally on the opposite side of the road to the beach, you can wander onto the white sands of Long Beach with a glass of wine in your hand to share the drama with seagulls, cormorants, seals, and if you are lucky, otters too.  In season the whales play their part in the Kommetjie pageant.

If you want action there is surfing, kite surfing, body surfing, fishing, sailing, water skiing, diving, canoeing or even crayfishing in season.

It is 20 minutes from Cape Point Nature Reserve and the warmer seas and lovely beaches of False Bay coastline which is home to the Jackass Penguin at Boulders Beach, Simons Town.

For big shopping sprees we have a sophisticated Mall 10 minutes away which has restaurants, a cinema. supermarkets, clothing, decor, coffee shops, jewellery and departmental stores, everything you might need just around the corner. As well as the Mall, there are cafes, little supply stores, intimate restaurants and pubs in Noordhoek village about 15 minutes drive away.
Very close to Kommetjie, there is Imhoff’s Farm which offers lots of entertainment for both young and old alike. Activities ranging from horse riding to visiting the snake park or animal touch farm. Or if you just want to relax, have a lovely lunch at Blue Water Café while enjoying the magnificent views across to Hout Bay.
